I'm doing a complete re-design for Rodeo Bar NYC. (Thanks Sarah Loth for the hook up!) Starting with a new logo and new tagline. Will be doing new shirts for the staff, new website, new menus, and possibly weekly/monthly band flyers. You can check out their site at: www.rodeobar.com

Sometimes I forget...

Sometimes I forget to blog. It's been a few months. I will try to get a few things up.

Well, just got back from Houston, TX, for the CAMEX show. Houston wasn't bad, nice to get into some warmer weather.

Got to see Das Racist a few nights ago at Stonybrook. Free show, and got to hang with them for a while.

While I was in Texas I got to some good inspiration for a project I'm working on for Rodeo Bar in NYC. Will post prelim ideas asap.

Check out my good friends band TVTV, they've got a new video out, really well done...

September

My birthday month, and a great time to be in New York. The weather is perfect, and the waves continue to roll in. Here is a little snippet I found, a letter to Miki Dora congratulating him on his performance at a Malibu surf contest, after what seems was a game of favorites being played. Nice to think of what happened on my birthday about 25 years prior.

Pretty pumped for the Igor swell to arrive, Sunday should be the day. Hope it's not great on Saturday, might have to give up my tee-time!

Also, as promised, is a new mix. This one has a work/bike vibe goin. Check it out:

Monthly MIx

OB RAW Presents is proud to present Vol. II of monthly mixes. The first mix was sent as an exclusive to close friends, but this one is very similar. I will be attempting to keep up with posts (weekly hopefully) and try to make a new mix just about every month. Follow the link below to download the .zip file and enjoy! That's all for now, back to work, check back soon for more.

Illiman +

Just been on the super-busy side lately. No posts in a minute! So my good friends at Illimanjaro just had their album release party this Friday night, it was a great time. I had the pleasure of being a part of their project, with the album cover design and the design of their Stomp and Howl movement tee's. Big-up's Chif on the artwork. Visit their myspace to hear their tunes: www.myspace.com/illimanjaromusic

Also, I had the chance to get my Super 8 footage back and add some music in there. It was shot all shot in one day, and was not edited. This is how it came out of the camera. Starting in Islip, looking across the bay to the lighthouse (hard to see online) and ending at the lighthouse. I think it came out pretty cool. Including surfers: Chif, Billy Smith, Chris Tomlin, Alex Fawess and a few others 10/25/09 was a good day:

Look out for more photos on the way, got about 6 rolls of 120 film that need to be scanned and uploaded.

Let the Holiday's begin! Hope everyone has a great season, I hope to see as many friends as possible, and have a happy, healthy holiday.

Sayville and Such

I am officially into my new place here in Sayville, and I'm loving it. Just skated down into town, hung at the Bunger shop down there with Sammy and a few others, had a little sesh on the rail. I got my third and fourth rolls of 120 developed from my Holga. I'm pretty happy with the results. These first four rolls have been a kinda test run, I'm hoping to get some more landscapes, and some surf, skate, snow stuff in the future. Keep on the lookout for that. I'm also waiting on two more rolls of Super 8 film to get back from being processed, super exited to see the results from those.

Other than that, had a great time at the Forum Snowboards video premier party in the city this past Friday night at the RedBull Space. Thanks to Junior and everyone over there for putting on a sick party!

Here's a few favorites from the last 2 rolls, they should link to the Flickr page this time...

Howdy Pilgrim

Just got my first two rolls of film from my Holga developed. I shot these on Fuji 400H color 120 film. I have to say the Holga is very easy to use and can produce some cool stuff. The one above and the next two were taken at the Pilgrim State Mental institution, which is now almost completely shut down. I went back a few days ago with my buddy Andrew, and will be expecting some more great shots from there soon. Click any image to see larger version in Flicker.
This is a 4-shot panorama I put together in Photoshop
Along with that news, we got our new catalogs in at work. It's been a pretty crazy last few (say 3-4) months. I think they came out pretty great. Check it out here:

Not to mention there's been some great waves in the past few weeks. It's not often we have swell three weekends in a row, but it's been better than average. Here's a shot taken of me during the tropical storm Danny swell by Kevin Mazur who is a celebrity photographer. His site is pretty cool, check that out as well: http://www.kevinmazurphotography.com

Supa Eight

I had shot a few rolls of Super 8 film a while back. They had been expired for about 10 years, so I wasn't really even expecting to see any results from them. This was shot at Special Sauce in the back parking lot one afternoon during some TV show shoot. I haven't had time to do any editing, maybe after I shoot a few more rolls I'll throw something together.

The song is by Nickodemus who has a new album out called Sun People, which you can listen to @ www.nickodemus.com  . This is the song "Sun Children" off that album. Be sure to check out the real video for the song on his website. He's been a local DJ here in NY for sometime, known for his Turntables on the Hudson sets, as well as traveling worldwide.
